Field Trips

January 2024

Antony Gormley Exhibit & The London Science Gallery

We took our General English students to the Antony Gormley exhibit at the White Cube Exhibition Centre. We had the chance to see some of his art and his abstract take on the human body’s relationship to space. Then we took the students to the London Science Gallery‘s AI exhibit, where we were able to learn about the history of AI and its prospective applications.

Saatchi Gallery & Battersea Power Station

The General English Class paid a visit to the Saatchi Gallery. The gallery was filled with art pieces and sculptures by many artists, all with the same theme: the human body. It was an intriguing experience for the class, and they did an excellent job deciphering the meaning of the work. After seeing the gallery, we went to the Battersea Power Station to learn about its history and how it altered after being decommissioned in 1975 and 1983. Interestingly, the building is now a shopping centre yet retains elements of its original architecture from the 1930s and 1940s.

Camden Town & Regent's Park

Our general English class visited Camden Town to learn about and appreciate the distinctive marketplaces’ cultures. Camden Town has a vibrant and distinctive appearance because of the painting and sculpture applied to many of its buildings. We stopped in Regent’s Park on our way through the town, which offered a stunning perspective of the London skyline.
