As we head into the depths of winter here at DAL, our students continue to achieve and develop their language skills. We would like to thank Lydia as well as Zaki, who , who recently completed their English course. We are currently teaching students from all over the world, including students from China, Hong Kong, Algeria, Spain and Turkey. Everyone is enjoying our social offering, with recent trips to Greenwich and the John Soane museum having proved especially popular.
Higher Education Course
More higher education students have finished their courses successfully and received their certificates and diplomas. We are proud to announce that seven of our graduates who completed their HND programmes successfully achieved their top-up degrees last month. Additionally, we have graduates who have informed us that they advanced further in their careers upon completing their studies at the Academy.
We truly hope that each and every one of our students had enjoyable and rewarding time at the Academy and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.
The John Soane Museum/The Post Office Buildings
The John Soane Museum was a hit with our English students! We spent a long time inside, learning about John Soane and his collection of paintings and artwork. We also went to The Post Office Buildings and saw the magnificent view of London. If you haven't already, we strongly advise you to visit these locations!
The British Museum
There is so much to see and do! Nothing compares to the British Museum's huge and varied collection of world treasures. Even though it felt like we were in the museum for a very long time, we only saw a portion of the exhibits. We'd definitely be interested in returning to check out what else it has to offer.
Careers Day Event
Docklands Academy London attended a student career fair hosted by Harris Academy Greenwich. We were ecstatic to see students' enthusiasm for the world of education. Our team shared useful information about our goal of providing education that leads to a successful career.
More events are on horizon and we will be attending many more career events in future. We look forward to many more opportunities to interact with the talented students in London!
One of this month's indoor social event will be delivered by our lecturer Paul who will lead a wellbeing session on Monday, 12th December with all students invited. Following the session, the Academy will provide a range of delicious festive food for all students and host a Christmas quiz and party. All DAL community is welcome to celebrate.
Christmas is quickly approaching, and we have some exciting seasonal events to share with you. You don't want to spend this winter indoors, from the high-speed antics of the Great Christmas Pudding Race to the fantastical throwback that is Circus 1903.
Christmas at Kenwood
Take a look at the Kenwood house, built in the 17th century and decorated for Christmas. This elegant home is the ideal place to unwind and take in the sights on a wintry night. The enormous garden outside the building will take you around an hour to go through. Don't pass up this amazing sight!
You up for a race? You have the opportunity to work in a team of four here in Covent Garden as you navigate obstacles while holding a pudding on a tray. Think quickly and get moving since this charitable event starts on December 10!
What a trip back in time! The Circus 1903 will arrive on December 15th and will be a throwback to circus acts from nearly a century ago. Nothing beats vintage circuses for spectacle, from life-sized elephant puppets to high-wire acts.
Winter Wonderland is still kicking around for December and is ready to show you what it means to really have fun! With a wide range of rides and games to enjoy. Winter Wonderland is the place to go for your fix of winter magic!
There is a lot to see and do. Visit Canopy Market in Kings Cross to peruse the selection of foods and trendy goods. Don't miss out on the variety of food and goods available at the Canopy Market, which is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
