Fuelled by Coffee

 

Running   a   diesel   engine   on   a   plant-‐based   fuel   is   hardly   a   new   idea.   One   of   the demonstrations _______  (38)  out  recently  in  the  University  of  Nevada  revealed  that it was easier to produce diesel fuel from crude oil.  As biodiesels  are  becoming _______ (39)  throughout  the  world, a great   number   of   scientists   and   environmentalists,   together   with   several   international organizations such  as  IGN  and  NCF,  seem  ______  (40)  various  sources  in order to  find  sound solutions to  the world’s energy  problem.  In   the   case   of   coffee,   the   biodiesel is made from   the   leftover grounds, which   are usually   thrown away or used as   compost.  ______ (41)   in   almost   any   sort   of   engine,   biodiesel fuel does  not  have  an  offensive  smell  –  just  a  whiff  of  coffee.
