  • Research project proposals for catering & restaurant managers
  • Management and leadership in catering & restaurants
  • Contemporary issues in catering & restaurant management

We designed this programme to deliver theory alongside practical experience where you may carry out independent research that will encourage you to be an active learner.

When it comes to running an actual catering company or restaurant, you will have covered the operational, functional, conceptual, and  strategic aspects of the business throughout the syllabus.

In this Level 7 programme you will learn in-depth how to manage a facility, the production/ service management of food and beverages, humanresources, financial and marketing operations.

We believe practical experience is invaluable. This is why we offer work placements at one of our busy partner restaurants where you will be allowed to try managing a restaurant, communicating with customers, liaising with suppliers, keeping an eye on financial performance as well as presentation of premises to understand how to achieve the smooth, effective, and profitable running of a restaurant.

Develop the practical experience and skills of learners alongside theoretical knowledge, and understanding in the field of catering and restaurant management; and provide opportunities for learners to gain a nationally recognised vocational qualification to enter employment in this sector, or to progress to higher education qualifications.
If the course is at Level 7, you can take up to 50 per cent of the length of your course in the UK as work placement. For example, you can study for a Level 7 diploma involving 20 weeks classroom learning (with a minimum of 15 hours taught study each week) and a 20 week work placement arranged at the end of, or at any time during the course.
This qualification leads to a Master in Catering & Restaurant Management or Hospitality Management. CTH/DAL qualifications are recognised as accepted routes onto the later stages of a number of UK and overseas university master degrees. Find out more
All units are assessed internally by a variety of assignment based tasks such as a business report, presentation and observation. Individual units can be graded either as fail, pass, merit or distinction
